About ICE Innovations
ICE Innovations Inc. is a Durham, North Carolina technology company that builds and operates consumer platforms, including Oak Ride, a rideshare app where riders and drivers agree on fares through bidding, Oak Drop local delivery, and iChef, a home chef marketplace, and advises enterprises on AI through its consulting arm, Digiverse LLC.
How it started
ICE Innovations began with a listening tour. Before writing a line of code, our founder, Dr. Sarah Choudhary, interviewed around 1,800 rideshare drivers and heard the same story again and again: commissions keep climbing, pay is unpredictable, and the algorithm always wins. She had spent twenty years building enterprise systems for large companies and knew the technology to run a marketplace fairly was not hard. What was missing was a company willing to do it.
Oak Ride, launched as ICE Ride, was the first answer: a rideshare where the fare is agreed before the ride and drivers choose their own commission by choosing a plan. iChef applied the same idea to home cooking. Oak Drop applies it to delivery. Digiverse LLC brings what we learn operating these platforms back to companies that want to build fairer systems of their own.
How we build
- Density first. We open one zone at a time, starting around Cary, so riders find drivers fast and drivers stay busy. Every signup decides where we open next.
- Show the math. Every price, fee and cut is on the screen before anyone commits. On Oak Ride a driver sees their take home before accepting; a rider sees the agreed fare before pickup.
- Real policies. Our legal hub contains eleven documents that are in force today, written in plain language. Nothing aspirational.
- Own the technology. The fare negotiation, dynamic commission, demand visualization and referral systems behind Oak Ride, and iChef's matching, are covered by pending United States patents.
The founder
Dr. Sarah Choudhary is the founder and CEO of ICE Innovations and leads Digiverse LLC. She holds a PhD in Data Science, has twenty years of experience in AI and enterprise architecture across more than 150 client organizations, is a Forbes Technology Council member and Forbes contributor, an AIconics Awards finalist and keynote speaker, and a five time published author with 17 peer reviewed publications. She is also CTO and co founder of TruAngles AI and the founder of Taleem, an education access nonprofit. Born in Islamabad, she lives in Cary, North Carolina. The name
ICE Innovations is not connected to any government agency. We are a private technology company founded in North Carolina. In 2026 the rideshare and delivery products were renamed Oak Ride and Oak Drop; the company name stayed.
