Driver Screening Policy

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all drivers partnering with ICE meet strict safety and ethical standards. By conducting thorough Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) and background checks, ICE aims to create a safe and trustworthy environment for passengers, drivers, and stakeholders.

This policy applies to all individuals applying to become drivers on the ICE platform. It includes initial screening, ongoing monitoring, and compliance requirements for maintaining eligibility.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state they operate in.
• Must have at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.

• Drivers must either own the vehicle they operate or have explicit, verifiable permission from the owner to use it for ride-hailing purposes.

ICE partners with SambaSafety or equivalent services to assess the driving records of all applicants.

• Acceptable Driving Record:
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
  • No more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• Disqualifications:
  • DUI/DWI conviction within the last 7 years.
  • Reckless driving, hit-and-run, or vehicular manslaughter conviction.
  • Driving with a suspended or revoked license within the last 3 years.

• Drivers’ MVRs will be reviewed periodically (at least annually).
• Alerts for new violations or suspensions will trigger an immediate review of the driver’s eligibility.

ICE requires all applicants to pass a comprehensive background check conducted by an approved third-party provider.

• Acceptable Criminal History:
  • No felony convictions within the past 7 years.
  • No convictions for violent crimes, sexual offenses, or fraud at any time.
  • No pending criminal cases that may impact driver safety or reliability.
• Employment Verification:
  • Validation of employment history if applicable (e.g., prior ride-hailing or transportation experience).

• ICE will periodically conduct background checks on active drivers to ensure continued compliance.

• Applicants must complete the online driver application form, providing:
  • Driver’s license details.
  • Vehicle registration and insurance information.
  • Consent for MVR and background checks.

• Initial screening results will be provided within 3-5 business days.
• Applicants will be notified of acceptance or disqualification via email.

• Disqualified applicants may appeal by submitting additional supporting documentation within 10 business days.

• Drivers are required to maintain compliance with this policy throughout their tenure with ICE.
• Failure to meet MVR or background check standards will result in:
  • Temporary suspension pending review.
  • Permanent deactivation if disqualifications are confirmed.

All personal information collected during the screening process will be handled in compliance with ICE’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
