Rideshare · formerly ICE Ride
Oak Ride
Oak Ride is a rideshare app built in the Triangle where the price is agreed by two people, not set by an algorithm. Riders propose what a ride is worth, drivers accept or counter, and the fare locks before the car moves. There is no surge pricing on Oak Ride.
For riders
See a suggested fare, propose your own, agree with a driver in seconds, and pay exactly that. Women driver preference, scheduled rides, live tracking, trip sharing and a safety button on every screen.
How fares workFor drivers
Pick a monthly plan, see your take home on every offer before you accept, and keep up to 100% of every fare. A live demand map shows where riders are waiting and how many drivers are already there.
Plans and requirementsWhere
Live in Cary and the RDU area. Raleigh, Durham, Apex and Morrisville are opening as driver density grows. Join the waitlist in the app.

Oak Ride for riders and Oak Driver for drivers are on the App Store and Google Play. The apps were previously listed as ICE Ride and ICE Driver; existing users receive the new name as a normal update and keep their account.
What makes it different
- The fare is agreed, not assigned. You will never pay more than you offered.
- No surge. Rain, game night and closing time cost what you agreed.
- Drivers choose their commission by choosing a plan, so the platform's cut is a flat fee they picked, not a percentage hidden in your fare.
- Drivers see where riders actually are, against how many drivers are already nearby, so they go where they are needed and you wait less.
- Built in North Carolina by a company you can call.
