Terms of Service

Effective November 15, 2026. Last updated November 7, 2026. Applies to Oak Ride, Oak Driver and Oak Drop, operated by ICE Innovations Inc. iChef has its own terms at ichef.co.

These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and ICE Innovations Inc. ("Oak", "we", "us") for the Oak Ride and Oak Driver mobile applications, the Oak Drop delivery service, and the websites oakrides.com and iceinnovations.ai (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. Oak Ride was previously known as ICE Ride; references to ICE Ride in older receipts or messages mean Oak Ride.

Drivers and couriers also agree to the Driver Agreement. Oak Drop senders also agree to the Oak Drop Delivery Terms. Where those documents say something more specific, they control.

1. What Oak is

Oak is a technology platform that connects people who want a ride or a delivery with independent drivers who provide it. Oak does not provide transportation or delivery services itself and is not a common carrier. Drivers are independent businesses, not our employees. We verify drivers, set standards, process payments and provide the tools; the driver provides the ride.

2. Who can use the Service

  • Riders and Oak Drop senders must be 18 or older. A rider may bring a minor as a passenger but must travel with them. Unaccompanied minors may not ride.
  • Drivers must meet the requirements in Safety and Driver Standards.
  • One account per person, in your legal name, with a phone number you control. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password private.
  • We may refuse, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law.

3. Fares and how they are agreed

The fare for a ride is the amount the rider and driver agree in the app before pickup, through the fare proposal process. The suggested fare is a guide, not a price. Once both parties accept, the fare is final except for:

  • Tolls and airport fees actually incurred on the route, passed through at cost.
  • Waiting time beyond the free grace period shown in the app before the ride is marked as started.
  • Added stops or a destination change the rider requests during the ride, priced at the per mile and per minute rates shown in the app at that moment and confirmed by the rider before the change takes effect.
  • A cleaning fee, with photo evidence, under the Cancellations and Refunds policy.

Oak does not apply surge, peak or dynamic multipliers to any fare. Tips are optional, go entirely to the driver, and are not subject to any commission.

4. Payment

Riders pay through a card or payment method on file, charged when the ride or delivery is completed. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store full card numbers. A receipt is sent to your email and kept in the app. Where cash or alternative payment methods are offered in the app, the rules shown there apply. If a payment fails we may retry it and suspend the account until the balance is settled.

5. Promotions, credits and referrals

Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, expire as stated when issued, and may be withdrawn for misuse. Referral rewards are paid only when the referred person completes the qualifying activity stated in the offer, and only for real, distinct people. Creating accounts to collect referral rewards is fraud and leads to permanent closure and recovery of the rewards.

6. Your conduct

Everyone on Oak follows the Community Guidelines. In short: treat people with respect, do not discriminate or harass, do not damage vehicles or property, no weapons, no illegal items, no open containers, and follow the driver's reasonable safety instructions. Riders may not ask drivers to break traffic laws, carry more passengers than seatbelts, or transport anything prohibited under the Oak Drop Delivery Terms.

7. Safety features and location

The apps use your location to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Trip sharing, the in ride safety button and in app calling are provided to help you; they do not replace calling 911 in an emergency.

8. Intellectual property

The Oak name, the Oak Ride, Oak Driver and Oak Drop names, the rings logo, the apps, the website, and all content, code and design are owned by ICE Innovations Inc. or its licensors and protected by trademark, copyright and patent law, including pending United States patent applications covering the fare negotiation, driver subscription and demand visualization systems. You receive a limited, revocable, non exclusive license to use the apps for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, resell or build a competing product from them. You may use our name and logo only to say truthfully that you ride with or drive for Oak. Anything you post in the Service, such as a review or a photo, you still own, and you give us a license to use it to run and promote the Service.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee that a driver will be available, that a ride will arrive at a particular time, or that the apps will work without interruption. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Oak's total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of the fares you paid to Oak in the twelve months before the claim or five hundred dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for the acts of drivers, riders or third parties, except where our insurance under Safety and Driver Standards applies. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold Oak harmless from claims arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of law, or your misuse of the Service, including claims by other users or third parties.

12. Disputes

Disputes are handled under the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration policy, which includes a mandatory individual arbitration clause, a class action waiver, and a 30 day right to opt out. Please read it.

13. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time in the app or by emailing support@oakrides.com. We may suspend or close an account for violations, safety concerns, fraud, non payment, or inactivity beyond two years, with notice where the law requires it. Sections 8 through 13 survive closure. Outstanding fares and payouts are still settled.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them. The current version is always at oakrides.com/terms and on this page.

15. Continuity from ICE Ride

Accounts, ride history, ratings, subscriptions, referral codes, credits and balances created under the ICE Ride and ICE Driver names continue without change under the Oak names. Acceptance of these updated terms is required to continue using the Service after the effective date.
